Trans Day of Remembrance 2025
Trans Day of Remembrance 2025 – Thursday 20th November
Time: 6pm
Place: Peace Walk, Victoria Park
The plan: To gather at peace walk near the war memorial at Victoria Park – volunteers are already piecing together a large wire wreath which will have fabric in the trans colours woven through it. People will then be invited to attach tags with words, prayers, names etc. as they wish to this large wreath. We will then carry this wreath and walk through Victoria Park, down New Walk and into town. The final destination is awaiting confirmation, but I thought it wise to get these base details out and advertised so people can save the date in their diaries.
Theme: “Carry their light”
Inspired by one of our Trade volunteers, the theme this year will be all based around light, carrying the light of lost trans people this year as we walk – so we want to encourage people to dress up, wear fairy lights, bring battery candles etc. – this light we will then carry along with the wreath as we walk into town together.
